Symptom: Clicks, but few sales

Clicks but few sales: why Amazon shoppers don't buy

If shoppers click but don't buy, the traffic is fine – the page doesn't persuade. More ad budget will make each lost sale more expensive, not fix it.

Shoppers can't hold the product. Images are where they check size, quality and use, and they often decide before reading a word.

Give every image one job

List the questions buyers ask in reviews and messages – size, scale, what's in the box, how it works, why it's better – and assign one to each image slot.

Lifestyle photos set the mood but rarely answer questions. Keep one or two and replace the rest with images that prove something.

Check every image on a phone

Text that needs zooming is invisible. Enlarge it or cut it. One message per image, high contrast between text and background.

Use the full gallery

Every empty slot is a missed chance to answer a question before the shopper scrolls away. Plan the full sequence, including a video if you can.

Make A+ Content settle the last doubts

A+ is read by shoppers who are close to buying. Comparisons, sizes and the main objections belong there – not only brand visuals. A+ Content requires Brand Registry.

Brief the designer before the shoot

A shoot without a brief gives nice photos that don't sell. Write a slot-by-slot brief: purpose, on-image text and composition.

Modules for this stage

  • Designer Brief & Content – A brief your designer can work from: image sequence, infographics, A+ and Brand Story.
  • Experiments – Design a test, choose the metric and read the result correctly.
