Symptom: Low organic traffic

Low organic traffic on Amazon: why your listing isn't found

Amazon can only show your product for searches it matches. When organic traffic is low, the listing text is the first place to look – before bids and budgets.

Read your title the way a phone shows it

In search results on a phone, shoppers see only the beginning of the title. If it starts with the brand or a list of keywords, they don't see what the product is or why it fits their search.

Start with the product type and main search term, then the key feature, size or count. Keep the brand short unless shoppers search for it.

Refresh the keyword research behind the listing

Search behaviour and competitors change. A keyword list from a year ago may miss the terms that bring sales today.

Rank terms by relevance and volume and decide where each goes: the most important in the title, the next in bullets, synonyms and other spellings in backend search terms.

Answer practical questions in the bullets

Size, fit, use and what's in the box come before benefits. Shoppers who can't find them leave – or buy and return.

Use the backend fields properly

  • Fill backend search terms with relevant words that are not already in the title and bullets.
  • Avoid repeating visible text – it adds nothing.
  • Length limits differ by category and marketplace; check the current rules for yours.

Check that the live listing is what you approved

Listings can be changed or suppressed without an obvious alert. Compare the live page with your approved version regularly.
